People say traveling has never been safer than today. I disagree. The world might have changed, but fundamentally it’s still the same. No matter where you are traveling to, dangers could still come in different forms. There are risks involved everywhere and in everything. In fact, I’d say traveling has never been entirely safe. There have always been bad weather conditions, bandidos, sinking ships, crashing airplanes, pirates, man-eating animals and stuff otherwise going BOOM!
Well, on the bright side, at least we can say attacks by tribes of headhunters have been on the downward trend for decades.
But, there’s no denying it; traveling or staying in unknown places does carry certain risks and dangers. And, this is one of the main reasons why some people hate traveling – yeah, such people do exist and I used to be one of them. However, the world is too big and life is too short for statements like, “I’ll never travel because I’m scared,” or “I’ll never board on a plane to anywhere because I could die from a plane crash.”
Instead, if you are a Christian like me and you cling to God by faith, you don’t have to fear anything. Really, you don’t.
Let me share the story of a missionary who was abroad on vacation with his wife. I know that religious leader personally and I know that he was a very honest and diligent follower of Christ. He was always talking about the good news of God and helping other fellow believers to stand stronger in their faith. Back to his vacation, just a few hours after he landed in India, a guy came, brandishing a knife and stole his bag, which had all the pocket money and other important stuff like the passports. Instead of reporting it, he kneeled down immediately and prayed to God. I know it’s hard to believe that such a miracle took place, but the thief came back and returned the bag, saying how he started getting intense pain in his heart right after stealing the man’s bag.
This is an example of what can happen if you put your trust in the Lord. And, here are some encouraging Bible verses that can strengthen your faith during your trip.
God Will Protect You
“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

“For the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
– From Deuteronomy 20:4
“The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
– From 2 Samuel 22:3-4
“Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings.”
– From Psalm 17:7-8
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
– From Psalm 34:17-18
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.”
– From Psalm 138:7
“…God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
– From Psalm 46:1
