5 Famous K-Drama OSTs That Deserve to Be Added to Your Playlist

Literally, all the OSTs from the dramas I’ve watched are amazing. That’s why I don’t have just a few favorites, but I’ll try to keep the list short.

Stay With Me –Guardian: The Lonely and Great God

Oh gosh, as a fan of Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun, I have to talk a little bit about the drama.

With great cinematography, great OSTs, great actors and a great storyline, Goblin is undoubtedly one of the best K-dramas ever directed. Tell me just one person who didn’t like Lee Dong Wook as the Grim Reaper and his on-screen chemistry with Gong Yoo –their bromance was just phenomenal and exceptionally funny. I’d say all the characters were well-written and the acting was extraordinary. The lead actors, along with the supporting actors, were exceptional in portraying their respective roles. I literally ship Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun and Lee Dong Wook (even Yook Sungjae and his credit card!)

This drama has an eternal, ethereal beauty to it. The storyline, the romances, the characters, the narration, the acting and the cinematography, everything is worth rooting for. Despite certain critics, I honestly think this drama deserved all the hype and high ratings it continues to get till this date.

Now, about the OST, “Stay with me” is a song by Punch and Chanyeol from EXO. It’s a soulful, melodious and beautiful song that has an exquisite, attractive feel to it. It also reflects the beauty and interesting storyline of the drama. In fact, listening to the song after watching the drama, especially the ending scene, will make you cry. No matter how many times I might listen to it, it always makes me emotional.

This drama for sure had an ensemble of good-looking actors and the chemistry between the main leads was really beautiful. I attribute the drama’s huge popularity mostly to the fact that it was not a typical rich guy-poor girl drama (leave that for Lee Min-ho) and there was no one trying to save themselves from unwanted advances. In my opinion, it was indeed a great drama because it had all the good elements – a good story, an outstanding landscape (the show was filmed in South Korea and Greece), drool-worthy actors and great acting. Plus, the actors’ dedication made all the combat scenes look very realistic.

Now, about the OST, I think many K-drama fans are obsessed with it. Six years have passed and our handsome Captain Yoo Shi-jin has already moved on and married Katy Louise Saunders, but we are still stuck with this song. It’s a very refreshing song that has lots of memories connected with the drama.

I truly wonder how Ailee managed to sing this without crying.

I think both the K-drama and the song set our standards so high that we can’t feel the same strong emotion with other OSTs. When I first heard it for the first time, I fell in love without even knowing the meaning or the singer.

If you watch the drama and then listen to this song, trust me, after hearing the first few piano notes, you’ll burst into tears. You’ll feel a clumping feeling in your chest…it would make you feel as if you are mourning for someone that you loved and who died.

It’s 2023 already but this song will never get old.

No matter what happened in the lives of the main leads, this song is a masterpiece and has such a special place in our hearts. Everything about it is perfect and beautiful. The emotional connection to the drama as well as Gummy’s heart-wrenching voice, is just on another level.

For You – Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

For You – Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

This drama, even after 7 years, remains one of the best. When it comes to choosing a good K-drama, I’ve very picky but Moon Lovers was awesome and yes, like everyone, even I’m waiting for a season 2.

“For You” is a very addictive song and the fact that it was sung by EXO (the king of OSTs) makes it even better. And, I had to mention it –Chen’s voice will give you the chills and will touch your soul deeply.
